Everywhere you look this winter you'll find cables! Cables on sweaters, cables on vases, cables on carpeting! We LOVE cables. Check out the cables on the covers of the winter knitting magazines. Interweave Knits brings you cabled sweaters, slippers, scarves, mittens and Cables 101 in their Winter 2011 edition just out. Knit Wear from Interweave Press has a luscious cabled capelet and cable trimmed jackets. Vogue Knitting's Fall, Holiday and Winter issues all feature cables on the cover and inside, too! The difficult decision is choosing which cabled pattern to knit first. Come on in and we'll help you decide … and find just the right yarn to knit your favorite cabled project this winter.
P.S. If you need to learn how to knit a cable … we have several classes to teach you, just check out our Class Schedule.
DREAMZ & CUBICS NEEDLES
We are excited to add Knitter's Pride needles to our selection of fine knitting needles. We are carrying Symphonie Dreamz, the color-coded needles made from Vermont's strong birchwood, and the cuboid-shaped Cubics. The Symfonie Dreamz have unique colors for each needle size so that it's simple to find the right sized needle at a glance. The Cubics square shapeliness offers a grip that has been well received by knitters, especially those with arthritis. If we are missing a size or style of Knitter's Pride needles, we will be happy to order them in for you.

WINTER CLASSES
Our winter classes gives you the opportunity to expand your general knitting skills. Miriam Felton continues to offer one-hour technique knitting skills labs on Saturdays, as well as an in-depth lace workshop in April. Betsy Slayton will guide you through basic sock, mitten and two-color knitting. Michelle Poulin-Alfeld's Sunday Afghan group moves to once a month, focusing on cable knitting. Michelle will also offer a Random Acts of Color workshop that will brighten up your knitted treasures with color accents.
To learn traditional ethnic knitting, we are adding an on-going study group taught by Michelle, our expert in traditional knitting. She will teach one-hour labs on special techniques used in traditional regional knitting. Additionally, Michelle is teaching a class series for stranded-color sweaters (Fair Isle, Scandinavian or Icelandic) and a new workshop on Finnish Korsnas Knitting. She is also offering her Twined Hat class again for those who missed out the last time.
For new, fun accessory project classes, come take Betsy's workshops for a Shawl Collared Cowl or Cabled Boot Toppers. Be sure to check out the class schedule and call to register for your favorite classes soon.
